WAMM will never turn anyone away based on
inability to pay. We sometimes offer free classes to low-income
and no-income women and teens through our grant
funded programming.
|
Please don't let financial concerns stop you from registering
for self-defense training. We may not be able to guarantee
you a spot in the current class, but we will work with you
to find you a spot in a future WAMM class. We ask that every
woman pay something.
Tuition is normally $395 ($345 if you sign up with a friend,
$295 with 2 friends).
We have full scholarships, partial scholarships, and payment
plans available. For example: many women can afford our standard
tuition of $395 – but not out of one paycheck. Some women
apply for a payment plan so that they can take some weeks or
months to pay off the balance.
Other women are homeless, or single mothers, or for other
reasons could never afford the entire $395. They may apply
for a full or partial scholarship- requesting that WAMM cover
anywhere from $5 to $390 of their tuition.
In order for WAMM to hold a place for you in the current class
you must submit some sort of financial deposit. This is usually
$100 but can be another amount that works for your finances.
HOW TO APPLY FOR A SCHOLARSHIP OR PAYMENT PLAN
Write a brief letter explaining why you'd like to take the
course, what you can afford to pay, and when exactly you
can pay it. Give exact dates and amounts if you are asking
for a payment plan.
Please enclose a copy of your most recent federal income tax
form, (not required for those applicants who live in subsidized
housing). If someone else claims you as a dependent, please
enclose a copy of their tax form. (Their income will not be
considered as available to you.)
